History of his career

Facts found on jockbio.com

Chauncey Billups entered the NBA draft and was picked by the Boston Celtics. In the middle of his rookie season he was traded to the Toronto Raptors. The next year, he was traded to the Orlando Magic. He had a serious shoulder injury, so he never got to play a game for the Magic. The following year he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves (or T'wolves.) He was the back-up point guard behind Terrell Brandon. When Brandon got injured it was Chauncey's chance to prove the reporters and broadcasters wrong. They said he was over-rated. He definitely proved them wrong because he had a breakthrough year. Later on in the 2003-2004 he was traded to one of the best teams in the NBA, the Detroit Pistons. Chauncey probably had his best year in 2003-2004 after he was traded to the Pistons. To top it all off the Pistons won the NBA championship. Chauncey also won the NBA championship MVP (Most Valuable Player) Award. He was traded to the Denver Nuggets (My favorite team) during the beginning of the 2008 season. He was traded for Allen Iverson, a very quick and agile player, who was just as good as Billups. But Billups gets everybody on his team involved unlike Iverson, which is why the Nuggets are doing so well. Chauncey is having a very successful year with the Nuggets. The Nuggets have 49 wins and 26 losses as of Wednesday April 1, 2009.
The reason why I like Chauncey Billups is because he is one of those very clutch players that can make big shots. That is why Chauncey Billups can be referred to as Mr. Big Shot. He can also calm things down. For example, when all the momentum is going towards the opposing team, he can hit a three pointer, which gives his team some momentum. When he makes 2 or maybe 3 shots in a row he becomes almost unstoppable. He can turn those 3 shots in a row to maybe even 10 shots in a row. I also like Chauncey Billups because for some really odd reason, my style of basketball is just like his. I also like him because he is probably one of the nicest players in the NBA if not the nicest player in the NBA. He’s always willing to help poor people for the NBA Cares Program, and he always signs autographs for kids, unlike other superstars. Chauncey Billups is also a very solid all-around player, meaning he can play offense, defense, and hustle after every loose ball. When they introduce Chauncey Billups name at a Nuggets home game they say: “Standing 6 foot 3 in his 12th, year out of the University of Colorado, number 7 our captain and leader, Chauncey Billups!”
